At Liverpool, I was the Director of Photography/Camera man. I feel my work on camera wasa better than i expected.
At first i needed a little bit of help from Chris with the technical side of things, but after that, i felt it was plain sailing. There is a few shots that are over exposed but i did that deliberately, and there is a shot of the BlueCoat building that is not quite level, its hardly noticeable, but that is due do the tripod being awkward, we did our best to have the shot completely level.
I shot some very nice stuff in the Display center, and in the gardens, but we all felt this wasnt going to be enough, So we were cheeky but charming, and we managed to aquire permission to shoot in the gallery as well.
As parts of the gallery were quite dark, some of the shots, did not come out as well as i predicted, i did my best to increase the exposure, but nothing muc seemed to work. The shots from the light places are beautiful.
The Voxpops came out very well. Some of the interviews are very interesting, without being boring, and they look brilliant too, apart from the fact of their eyeline. this was due to James being stood too far left of the camera, but this was not something we thought would be a problem until post.
Robbie, i feel was an excellent director. he knew how to motivate us, and get us working with out being bossy, he was open to ideas, which i find is a good trate in a director, and he took a relaxed but professional approach to the role.
James was producer. he did a great job, he had the file all sorted, he kept us all organised and had us knowing what we needed to be doing, when and where.
Zach did a briliant job on sound, he worked alongside me really well, and he didnt slack with the boom pole once, it never came into shot, and he managed to get each interview, and the sounds we needed, crystal clear.
Chris is working in post. editing. ive not seen his full work on this project yet, but what i have seen is looking fantastic, and from what ive seen of his editing in the past i know hes going to do a great job.
i feel we all worked very well together as a group, we had a simple but great idea, that has worked better than any of our expectations.
